My name is Kate Spivak, I am a Physician Assistant and a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). It has been my dream to work with children since I was a kid. After completing my master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies I joined a pediatric practice. While working there, I completed my CLC training and after 1,000 hours of clinical practice, I became an IBCLC.

Working with children is my passion and being a lactation consultant provides an amazing opportunity to help mothers during the most critical times. I strongly believe every woman can breastfeed — sometimes all that is needed, is some support. My medical background really helps me understand why breastfeeding is so important. The biology behind the process and my lactation consultant certification taught me the importance of breastfeeding in a whole new way. I love empowering women by sharing my knowledge and helping moms have a successful and positive experience.
